Marcio Doctor is a Grammy award-winning percussionist and composer, originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina and based in Hamburg, Germany.
He has recorded and performed with a wide variety of international artists such as Carla Bley, the Brecker Brothers, Vince Mendoza, Cory Henry, John Scofield, Jacob Collier, Joe Lovano, Quincy Jones, Joshua Redman, Peter Erskine and Jim Beard.
As a member of the NDR-Big Band (The Hamburg Radio Jazz Orchestra) he has recorded and toured with Maria Schneider, Al Jarreau, Michael Gibbs, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Michael Moore, João Bosco, Bill Frisell, Bobby McFerrin, Pat Metheny and Jeff Ballard among many others.
As a composer he has written, performed and produced music for radio features, films, theatre and TV-documentaries. His music for film has been heard at film festivals worldwide. His soundtracks have been broadcast on Re:Sound (WBEZ), 99% Invisible (PRX), Radio Ambulante (PRI), Unfictional (KCRW), Groundwork (NPR), das ARD Radio Feature, NDR, WDR, ARTE TV (Germany/France) and CANAL+ (France)
